About
Emily Tabor, LICSW
My therapeutic approach is grounded in your healing being driven by you. You are the expert of your experiences, the road to your healing and what being healed looks like. I will act as your guide by providing you the process and tools for you to develop your own healing.

I began specializing in grief and loss counseling, bereavement therapy, adjustment to chronic illness and caregiver support after supporting several family members' health transitions, caregiving for a loved one and experiencing my own grief after their deaths. During those raw moments, I found the extreme benefit a helpful hand could provide. It was then that I realized the honor and calling of being that helpful presence for others also stepping through these moments in their lives.

Feelings from grief are a fluctuating range of emotions that can at times even be conflicting. It can be helpful to have a person to guide you through honoring your grief experience, being a witness to your emotions, identifying ways to adjust to a different life, finding meaning and stepping forward while honoring your loved one.
02.
There are times where changes in our health can create feelings of anger, self doubt, depression, anxiety and a sense of not knowing your direction or place in life. It can be helpful to have a person guide an exploration of your emotions in order to begin to define a new path forward that honors you.
03.
Caring for a loved one often means balancing their needs with your own, which can quickly lead to burnout. The emotional weight of watching someone’s health decline while trying to stay strong can feel overwhelming. Counseling offers a dedicated space space to pause, sort through your emotions, and receive the support you deserve.

For those uncomfortable with sitting in a counseling office or on a telehealth call I offer therapy while walking. Instead we will walk through the beauty of the pacific northwest forest and parks while working towards your healing. Learn More

Some experiences don’t stay in the past. They can come up unexpectedly and feel overwhelming long after they happened. EMDR is a gentle, supportive approach that helps you heal from these distressing experiences and move forward with greater ease.
