What is walking therapy?
Walking therapy, sometimes called Walk-Talk Therapy or Walk-And-Talk Therapy, is an alternative to traditional in-office therapy that takes advantage of the theraputic properties of exercise and fresh air. Some clients find that its easier to relax, release tension and talk more openly when in the outdoors walking side-by-side rather than sitting in an office face to face.

What if the weather is bad?
Being born and raised in Washington, I’m no stranger to unpredictable weather. With the right clothing and preparation, we can usually continue our walks, even in the rain.
Layered clothing, waterproof jackets, comfortable walking shoes with good traction, and hat can make a big difference in staying comfortable.
For safety reasons, however, sessions may need to be rescheduled, canceled, or moved indoors due to concerns such as poor air quality, extreme heat, ice, lightning, high winds, or snowstorms. Your safety and comfort will always come first.
Where do you do walking therapy?

How do I know we will be a good match for therapy?
Prior to starting any therapy I recommend we do a consultation free of charge so that we can both get a better feeling for each other. If at the end of that call we both feel like its a good fit, only then will we schedule additional appointments.

How is my privacy protected while we're in public?
To help protect your privacy, I choose quieter, less populated walking paths whenever possible. I also encourage selecting routes outside of your immediate neighborhood to reduce the chance of running into someone you know. Before we begin, we’ll discuss how you’d like to handle brief interactions if we pass others along the trail.
During our sessions, I remain aware of our surroundings and can adjust our pace or change direction to limit being overheard. If emotions feel intense, we can pause or move to a more secluded area so you feel safe and supported.
